A Symphony of exquisite engineering – T+A Symphonia

T+A Symphonia impresses again for its Engineering and Musical Performance

The T+A Symphonia takes the increasingly crowded network-receiver concept and approaches it from a distinctly high-end perspective. Designed to replace an entire stack of components, it combines streaming, DAC, phono stage, preamplifier and power amplification in a compact chassis, while retaining the unmistakable look and feel of a serious hi-fi component.

It was recently reviewed by Fidelity online, The reviewer’s first impressions are particularly enthusiastic. The Symphonia’s build quality, beautifully finished casework, controls and hand-mounted VU meters create an immediate impression of luxury and precision engineering, with the reviewer praising its exceptionally high-quality construction and logical, tactile operation.

More importantly, the engineering translates directly into performance. The Symphonia is described as analytical and sensitive, yet with plenty of power in reserve. With demanding electronic and heavily layered recordings, it extracts fine detail effortlessly, giving drums strong definition and capturing even the briefest high-frequency decay.

The reviewer also finds it lively and warm compared with the DAC section of a C.E.C. CD 5, while Pink Floyd gains extra punch and cohesion.

But perhaps the strongest praise comes at the conclusion: the Symphonia is said to perform exquisitely in every musical situation, combining refinement with power and producing a soundstage that can make a small jazz club feel almost life-sized.

The final verdict is wonderfully succinct: “a wonderful piece of engineering.
