AUDIOPHILE-GRADE SOUND

Transrotor offers a huge variety of turntables from the mid to the ultra-high-end. Transrotor’s principles are precision manufacturing, sustainability, stunning aesthetics, and excellent sound quality throughout its range.

Transrotor champion a sustainable, modular and adaptable approach.

Discover Transrotor’s TMD and FMD Drive Systems

Key technologies of Transrotor include their TMD and FMD drive systems, available on select models, which stand for Transrotor Magnet Drive and Free Magnetic Drive, respectively. The TMD design uses a bearing with a built-in magnetic clutch, allowing torque transfers without direct mechanical coupling of the motor or even a belt.
The FMD design is somewhat more sophisticated, taking things a step further. Essentially, a lower platter is spun, and a completely independent (even having separate bearings) upper platter is driven magnetically by the lower platter.

RANGE OVERVIEW

(drop down list)

MAX

Timeless, flexible – the perfect basis for entry and upgrading

Our model Max has his name for two reasons. Firstly, we wanted to name a good friend, and secondly, it’s about maximum reduction. Design is only good when you can’t leave anything out. In our philosophy, the Max is also the perfect introduction to the world of Transrotor. Here you have the outsourced motor, which has no contact with the turntable apart from the drive belt. Of course, our favorite material, solid aluminum, rotates. The tonearm base is infinitely adjustable and a second tonearm is also possible. The perfect base with the chance to move up.

MAX NERO

Different color, strong sound – Is it just a question of finish?

That would not have been the impetus for us to develop the Max Nero. This is also about a material that has called the world’s sound engineers to new challenges: polyoxymethylene, or POM for short. The material is super hard, requires precision mechanical processing – above all, POM absorbs resonances and still enables the high dynamic response of good record pressings. A win-win situation for us. We also designed the motor to be a perfect fit. As with the Alu-Max, you have the option of two tonearms, even up to 12 inches.

DARK STAR

Our “dark star” – an aesthetic and audiophile powerhouse

The name sounds a bit like something out of a Star Wars movie. Which was a deliberate choice. This is where our founder Jochen Räke first became friends with the material POM – polyoxymethylene. This plastic determines the entire construction, from the chassis to the motor to the turntable. The platter is an impressive six centimeters thick and comes with a precisely fitting weight, also made of POM. The result is an audiophile appearance that is as cohesive as it is aesthetic.

DARK STAR REFERENCE

Double sounds better – the logical upgrade with maximum precision

This step, this upgrade, was forced upon us: The Reference is, of course, the bigger brother of the Dark Star – with the important difference that we have doubled the floor level. Once again, we have placed our trust in the audiophile and precision mechanically highly sophisticated plastic polyoxymethylene. We achieve greater smoothness, flanked by a higher dynamic response. In addition, the platter rotates solidly and beyond any doubt in our specially developed bearing block. As massive as it looks, the Dark Star Reference is light, elegant and full of energy.

DARK STAR SILVER SHADOW

Light meets dark – beautiful contrast and maximum smoothness

Solid aluminum meets polyoxymethylene. Aesthetes will be delighted with the contrast of bright gloss and matt black. But above all, the combination makes sense in terms of sound. The materials are completely different in terms of their natural resonance – so no harmful vibrations can build up and the sound is extremely quiet. Some of the details are only surprising when the platter is run for the first time. It is made of POM, but we have weighted it down with five mighty aluminum weights. The running smoothness is perfect, the measured values on the edge of what can be recorded.

ZET 1  /  ZET 1 TMD

Design meets craftsmanship – and audiophile fascination

Our ZET 1 is intended to be more than just an audiophile powerhouse. It is also a tribute to the elegance of vinyl playback itself. Its chassis made of highly polished, black acrylic gives it an extraordinary aesthetic – at the same time, we have trusted the material in its audiophile values and its high-precision processing capabilities since the very beginning of our company. The aluminum platter, weighing an impressive ten kilograms, forms the heart of the turntable. Another highlight of the ZET 1 is the option of equipping it with two tonearms. The ZET1 is also open to an upgrade with a TMD bearing, plus a base on its own rack.

ZET 3 / ZET 3 TMD

Far more than just a bigger brother – a clear upgrade is on offer here

We live in a time in which a simple “more” is not always effective. And yet we developed the ZET 3 with the knowledge that the deliberate use of finer, heavier elements can enormously increase the precision and enjoyment of playing records. Hence the twelve-kilogram turntable and the sandwich chassis with an aluminum layer between two acrylic platters. Have we given up on the harmonious design of the ZET 1? We hope not. The art of engineering is also at work here. It is also a wonderful basis for upgrading via alternative tonearms and cartridges. The Z3 is also open to an upgrade with a TMD bearing, plus a base on its own rack

MASSIMO NERO TMD

Mass and power – legendary bearing combined with many options

That looks heavy. It may be. But here we combine maximum mass with the magic power of defined magnets. The TMD bearing is a magnetic coupling for the drive. The lower and upper parts of the bearing are constructed in such a way that they can rotate against each other, with three pairs of magnets in between that attract each other. The lower part of the bearing is driven and transmits the rotary movement to the upper part via the magnetic coupling. The Massimo Nero TMD can also integrate the drive via a second motor. And for the imagination: up to four tonearms could be mounted by our specialist dealers.

FAT BOB S TMD

The maximum as standard – our classic with TMD bearing

Some things are not easy for us to decide. In this case, it was almost inevitable: we equipped the Fat Bob, which has now become a classic, with TMD bearings right from the start. The magnetic clutch allows unimagined precision and smooth running at the same time. The design is iconographic. Many a movie production has been equipped with exactly this turntable. All in polished aluminum. Our Bob is “fat” mainly due to the massive platter, which weighs 12 kilograms. Again, two tonearms are permitted, also in a length of 12 inches.

ALTO TMD

Commitment and ambition – this foundation makes all players shine

For us, a good turntable means that all components can develop their full potential. That means tonearms, cartridges – and of course good vinyl pressings. Our Alto gives you full scope and does not limit you. For example, the option to adjust the height of the tonearm while playing is great. An important advantage, for example, with pressings of different thicknesses. Once again, we put our trust in our TMD bearing and the many options for mounting. This means that up to three motors can be integrated, also open to the variety of our high-performance power supply units.

BELLINI TMD

An updated classic

the Bellini reflects the brand’s long-standing commitment to creating the ideal platform for high-quality tonearms and cartridges. Its design centres on mass, stability and isolation. A substantial aluminium platter delivers speed consistency and vibration damping, while the slab-chassis plinth — crafted primarily from thick acrylic — carefully distributes weight for structural control.

RONDINO BIANCO FMD

Transparent, bright, lively – an audiophile friend for years to come

An important aspect of our company philosophy is sustainability. We see our turntables as audiophile friends for many years to come. We also live out these values in our Rondino Bianco. The curved board for the tonearm alone is a masterpiece of design and engineering. Other tonearms can also be fitted as an option. It is also possible to display the work of art on an optional turntable. One of the many advantages and at the same time one of our unique selling points: The turntable rotates via our contact-free Free Magnet Drive (FMD).

RONDINO NERO FMD

Paint it black? – far more than just a visual difference

Of course our two Rondinos are brothers. But it would be too easy to distinguish only between black and white, bianco and nero. With the Nero, the ten-kilo platter is mounted on a sandwich base: two acrylic layers surround a layer of solid aluminum. Not only does this look good, it also improves stability and has a direct effect on the quietness of the overall construction. Here too, of course, with a support weight made of solid aluminum. And of course with our contact-free Free Magnet Drive (FMD).

STRATO BIANCO TMD / NERO TMD

Our interpretation of the classic

We can also do classic and angular. Our Strato is available in two versions – with a black or white acrylic finish. The two levels enclose a solid aluminum core. In the Bianco version, the platter is made of acrylic; in the Nero version, we opted for POM. Both platters rotate above our TMD braring – but what is particularly interesting is the view underneath the platter. Instead of using an external motor – as is almost standard for us – we have combined three drives with belts, invisible but highly effective. In keeping with the classic shape, we also supply the perfectly fitting cover.

ORION REFERENCE TMD

Transparent meets shiny metal – a reference rotates here

How far can a classic turntable be developed that still looks compact? In the Orion Reference FMD, we have dared to go as far as possible – and we’ll say straight away: of course there is also a perfectly fitting rack in our range. This is what our engineers had in mind. The heart of the design is once again our Free Magnet Drive (FMD), a completely contactless drive. For which we have also developed our own power supply unit. The proud eye-catcher is the eight-centimetre platter made of solid aluminum. We designed the underlying chassis in two layers for a perfect fit.

TOURBILLON FMD

Complex, elaborate, ultimate – a drive for eternity

Of course, this is a nod to the legendary tourbillon movements of watchmakers. But here, as with us, the aim is to subordinate maximum complicity to maximum precision. Here, we have opted for acrylic in the base, as well as for the platter. This is eight centimeters thick and thus represents the ideal of a mass turntable. It rests on our “Free Magnet Drive” for comprehensive decoupling. The lower aluminum block houses three motors.

ARTUS FMD

A legend with mythical power – precision engineering meets pure power

The King of the Round Table gathered his knights around a round table. Perhaps this association led us to our Arthurian drive. The fascination with King Arthur remains unbroken to this day. We want our large-format drive to radiate its fascination for many years to come. Everything is mounted on gimbals. The drive can swing freely in all directions to compensate for vibrations in the ground. Once again, we use our rotating magnetic field – driven by three motors. A total of 220 kilograms want to find a home. Of course, our authorized dealers worldwide will take care of the assembly.

PHONO STUDIO

An amplifier for the cartridge signals is indispensable.

This is because tiny, fine, sensitive current flows are processed here. On the one hand, it is important to raise these to the exact level required for the preamplifier/integral amplifier. In addition, the codec of the analogue record must also be equalized according to the specified standards. We are professionals and know the specifications and the structure of high-sounding players.

High-quality phono preamplifier in a black housing. Adjustable for all MM or MC systems. Very precise, low-noise sound. The “insider tip”. Input and output RCA (cinch).

Our top model

An amplifier for the pickup signals is indispensable. This is where tiny, fine, sensitive current flows are processed. On the one hand, it is important to raise these to the exact level required for the preamplifier/integral amplifier. In addition, the codec of the analogue record must also be equalized according to the specified standards. We are professionals, we know the specifications and the structure of high-sounding players.

Here is our fully balanced phono preamplifier – in two almost identical housings. One houses the electronics, the other acts as a storage power supply.

Our “flagship”. The sophisticated circuitry with the highest quality components ensures extremely fine and precise amplification of MC systems. The power supply effectively stores the current like a rechargeable battery (but without wear and tear) and can therefore supply the preamplifier with power extremely evenly and quickly.

Separate housings for preamplifier and power supply, balanced input and output, XLR sockets

KOPFHÖRERVERSTÄRKER

Why do we offer a headphone amplifier?
Because we can and we have the perfect circuits and components.

What’s more, our engineers love this design, which is not dramatically different from a good phono stage.

In the majority of cases, most high-end enthusiasts obtain the sound energy for their headphones via the integrated port on the integrated amplifier or preamplifier. Here, most manufacturers usually install small amps that cannot keep up with our headphone amplifier either in terms of performance or design. We bring the full sound power to your ears.

We also follow a highly honest, audiophile train of thought: our headphone amplifier can be integrated completely passively into an existing chain. The signal is passed on unfiltered. Or the owner can choose the freestyle option: Our headphone amplifier can then replace a complete preamplifier and connect directly to a power amplifier or even mono blocks.

Sustainable excellence and precision.

Transrotor is family run business that creates products that meet audiophile standards, but they are also highly sustainable. We want our turntables to provide loyal service not for years, but for decades.

We are dedicated to perfection. Every product is made by hand and demonstrates the highest level of precision. Our production facility in Bergisch Gladbach, in the west of Germany is where development and final production takes place. We have established a close network in the immediate region for other necessary components. There are no long delivery routes and we pay attention to quality assurance on site.

Another outstanding feature of Transrotor turntables is their unmistakable design.

We focus on clear lines and aesthetic beauty. We do this deliberately – for many years to come a Transrotor is the promise and definition of timeless elegance. Trust in us and our products is an integral part of our company philosophy.

We create the ultimate turntables at the limits of what is technically possible, but there are also models that have been deliberately designed for beginners or newcomers to the world of vinyl fascination.

We combine craftsmanship, quality, sustainability and, of course, audiophile enjoyment.

Made in Germany – since 1971.

“With 50 years of precision engineering, Transrotor crafts high-end turntables blending aesthetics and superior sound.”
