Do the T+A Talis R330 have enough puff for Huff?

In his long-term review of the T+A Talis R330,  Reviewer Steve Huff describes them as some of the most precisely built speakers he has ever had in his room — but stresses that precision here does not come at the expense of musicality.

He highlights the fully engineered aluminium cabinet and the fact that T+A designs and manufactures everything in-house in Germany, from the drivers to the enclosure. Build quality is described as impeccable, with nothing accidental about the design.

Sonically, he says the R330 strikes a rare balance between technical precision and emotional engagement. While many assume T+A products lean analytical, he found the opposite to be true. The speakers deliver:

Deep, room-filling bass that rivals much larger designs

A lush, open midrange with body and weight to vocals

Smooth, refined treble with detail but no harshness

Strong dynamics without sounding aggressive or over-technical

He repeatedly emphasises their ability to connect emotionally with the music, describing them as immersive, fluid and “soul-stirring.” Compared with other high-end speakers in his room, he considers the R330 one of the most complete and balanced two-way designs he has experienced at the price.

There is a sneaky mention of the new Soulnote amplifier doing what it does best too……

After several months of comparison against multiple competitors, he ultimately purchased a pair himself — calling them “endgame speakers” in the small two-way category.

His conclusion is clear: the Talis R330 combines German precision with genuine musical warmth and involvement, delivering a sound that feels complete across all frequencies without leaving him wanting more.
