Tellurium Q Ultra Silver II Streaming Cable – A New Direction Worth Hearing?
For many audiophiles, networking sits low on the upgrade priority list. Terry Ellis admits, “Up until 2025 that was me too… I had what I thought was a simple but good enough networking arrangement.” But Tellurium Q’s new Ultra Silver II Streaming Cable, nicknamed Plato’s Ghost, has prompted a rethink.
The cable’s name reflects both philosophy and engineering: the pursuit of perfection, resurrected ideas from past R&D, and the aim to be an “invisible conduit” for music.
Sonically, the Ultra Silver II is described as a “Statement II lite.” It retains the clarity, layering and natural tonality of TQ’s flagship Statement series, but in a leaner, more affordable form. “With less thickness there is more clarity, space, details, ambience… The illusion is exceptional with this cable.”
Comparisons with rivals showed its strengths and against generic Cat6, Terry thought the difference was night and day—especially under musical stress. Even when pitted against the far pricier cables, the Ultra Silver II held its ground, delivering an ease and 3D depth that left the reviewer “with a nagging doubt I would miss the extra something the TQ cable was doing.”
While a significant purchase the reviewer felt it represents serious value. The verdict? “Whenever a product veers in a slightly different direction to the norm it becomes an ‘Essential Audition’… I am awarding a Serious Bang for the Buck.”
