Tellurium Q Silver III Cables Earn Strong Praise from Hi-Fi+
The Tellurium Q Silver III represents a significant step forward from the company’s popular Silver II, with the new generation designed to extract greater performance from increasingly ambitious hi-fi systems. The cables use Tellurium Q’s approach to minimising phase distortion, but the company deliberately keeps the details of its construction under wraps. The real story, therefore, is what you hear.
And according to Alan Sircom of Hi-Fi+, what you hear is a substantial improvement.
Silver II is described as very good: poised, composed and easy to listen to, although with a slight trade-off in information and a performance ceiling. Silver III changes the balance dramatically, bringing greater life, speed and insight while retaining the tonal richness and harmonic character that made its predecessor so popular.
Importantly, the extra resolution doesn’t translate into brightness. Instead, Sircom highlights improved clarity, vocal articulation, soundstage scale and rhythmic performance, with the additional information actually enhancing the music’s harmonic grace. There is also a greater sense of body and solidity, alongside increased dynamic energy and an impression of stronger loudspeaker grip.
The review particularly praises the Silver III as a complete cable system, with the interconnects and speaker cables working together harmoniously.
The verdict is emphatic: “one of those easy recommendations”, with Sircom concluding that at its price, the Silver III is “hard to beat for overall value.”
