Transrotor Strato Nero – Analog Perfection, Complete
We had the luxury of assisting a client with the set up of a Transrotor Strato Nero recently, and it reminded us of this review – its from a couple of years ago, but we thought still worth highlighting.
To summarise, the reviewer says:
When you think of ‘complete package’ turntables, you don’t usually imagine a 32kg high-end masterpiece. Yet that’s exactly what the Transrotor Strato Nero delivers: a fully assembled dream deck that leaves nothing to chance. Equipped with the acclaimed TRA9 tonearm, Goldring’s Figaro MC cartridge, a heavyweight Konstant FMD external power supply, premium phono cabling, and even an acrylic dust cover.
The engineering is as meticulous as it gets. A triple-layer chassis of acrylic and aluminum ensures superb vibration damping. The 6cm platter, weighing 5.3kg in resonance-killing POM, runs on Transrotor’s legendary magnetic TMD bearing, powered by three synchronous motors in a decoupled aluminum block. This design guarantees stability and near-perfect rotational accuracy—results confirmed in both listening sessions and lab measurements.
But the real magic lies in the sound. Compared directly with Transrotor’s excellent Rondino Nero, the Strato brought a new dimension of depth and transparency. “The black Strato almost leaned back a bit… illuminating the spatial spectrum further in depth,” the review notes. Vocals and instruments gained space to breathe, layering unfolded naturally, and the presentation felt relaxed yet utterly precise.
Across genres, from jazz ensembles to orchestral works, the Strato showed an enviable balance: unforced musical flow with rock-solid timing, clarity, and a spatial realism that pulls you deeper into the performance. “A dream turntable without weaknesses for analog gourmets,” is how the verdict sums it up.
The Strato Nero isn’t just a turntable—it’s a statement of analog excellence, proving that Transrotor can combine engineering muscle, luxurious design, and sheer musicality into one seamless, irresistible package.
We have to agree!
